A course in visual communication design for graduate
students with backgrounds in engineering and humanities disciplines. Theories
of design were introduced including definitions of design, design methodology,
and the designer's role in society. Topics covered included composition,
color, perception, visual communication, typography, abstraction, and
visual systems. Students worked individually to complete a series of short
exercises. Time in the classroom was divided among short projects, critiques,
and discussion.
